2010 Lake Country Half
Marathon & 5K
The Lake Country Half Marathon has been challenging due to
numerous construction projects, topped with changes in
detour routing. The event will still have the
Lake Country atmosphere with these scenic venues:
Crystal Lake, overview of city on Thurow Drive, downtown
boardwalk overlooking Fowler Lake, an isthmus with the view
of Lac La Belle and Fowler Lake, and Riverside Park.
Lapham Drive captures a lot of shade and Thurow Dr will have
a couple rolling hills. We have worked very hard to
get the best possible route through negotiating will public
officials, construction companies, construction plans,
detours , and neighborhoods.

The RACC and BIB 1
People run for a reason,
run for a cure, run for hope, run to make wishes come true,
runs strong, run to remember, and run for Kid's who can't.
There is a very special event happening this coming
Saturday, Sept. 4th in Oconomowoc for RACC and it's members.
Along with family, friends and supporters, 5 RACC Core
Members (Tim Wacker, Brad Ratzow, Mark Dorney, Kelly
Steinberg and Cole Braun) will be running next to an empty
stroller being pushed by Tim to honor and remember Marissa.
She will be given the Honorary # 1 race number that will be
worn by her good friend Tim Wacker.
Marissa battled like a
champion but lost her battle with children's cancer in July
of this summer. This was just a couple months after
she was able to watch her friend, Tim compete in the
Oconomowoc Duathlon and remarked that she wanted to
race that with him next year. Marissa loved to
run, loved having fun and playing. The goal is to
defeat this horrible disease and give kid's a chance to live
complete lives. As we run, raise money and say we are
competing for Kid's with Cancer many times it is JUST
SOMETHING TO DO and it's not real in your face. We say
"We can't let cancer win! and Cancer Sucks!" but
it does win.
